대행선사에 따르면 인간과 우주 삼라만상 일체 존재자들은 ‘한마음’을 근본으로 하여 연결되고 소통하며 함께 움직이고 있다. 선사는 이러한 한마음이 우리 존재의 ‘주인공’이므로 일체를 그 자리에 놓아가면 업식業識이 소멸하고 한마음의 지혜와 능력이 개발되어 유생有生, 무생無生의 모든 존재자를 둘 아니게 이끌며 살아가는 대자유인이 된다고 가르쳤다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 가르침으로부터 미래사회를 이끌어갈 수 있는 진정한 지도자를 육성할 수 있는 리더십 이론의 개발 가능성을 탐색하였으며, 이를 잠정적으로 ‘주인공 리더십’이라고 명명하였다.
본 연구는 ‘주인공 리더십’을 제4차 산업혁명 시대의 요구에 부응할 수 있는 리더십 이론으로 개발할 수 있기 위하여 미래 시대의 전문가 리더십으로 떠오르고 있는 ‘직관 리더십’을 ‘주인공 리더십’의 관점에서 고찰하였다. 직관 리더십의 핵심인 ‘직관’의 개념이 ‘주인공 리더십’의 핵심인 ‘한 생각의 심성통신’과 관련이 깊은 것으로 보이기 때문이다. 그런데 고찰의 결과, 서구적 ‘직관 리더십’은 아직 그 근거가 명확히 규명되지 못하고 있고, 이에 따라 그 작동원리나 개발방법도 불분명한 상태에 있다는 점이 확인되었다. 이러한 한계는 ‘주인공 리더십’의 관점에서 극복될 수 있으며, 따라서 ‘직관 리더십’은 ‘주인공 리더십’에 통합될 때 보다 온전해질 수 있다고 본 연구는 주장한다.
본 연구는 끝으로, ‘직관 리더십’을 ‘주인공 리더십’의 입문단계로 활용한다면 미래사회의 요구에 맞는 실용성을 보여줄 수 있어서 현대인들에게 쉽게 어필할 수 있고, 이어서 자연스럽게 ‘주인공 리더십’으로 이끌어질 수 있다고 결론짓는다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

According to Seon Master Daehaeng, all beings, human and otherwise, are connected, interact and move together based on “Hanmaum (One Mind).” She further taught that this Hanmaum is the “Juingong (True Master)” of our existence, and if we can entrust all matters to it, our karmic consciousness ceases, and the wisdom and ability of Hanmaum are developed. Consequently, we can live enjoying great freedom while leading all beings, those who exist and those who do not yet exist, to complete equality. This paper explores the development potential of leadership theory based on Daehaeng’s teachings with which we can cultivate true leaders to lead future society. I have tentatively named it “Juingong leadership.”
To develop my theory of Juingong leadership that can respond to the demands of the 4th Industrial Revolution, I looked into intuitive leadership, a rising form of future expert leadership, from the perspective of Juingong leadership. That is because I thought the concept of intuition, a key factor in intuitive leadership, was closely connected to the concept of “mind-nature communication of a single thought.” However, after considerable investigation, I found that the Western concept of intuitive leadership has not yet been clarified, and thus, its working mechanisms and development have not yet been investigated. These limitations can be overcome from the perspective of Juingong leadership. Therefore I think intuitive leadership can become a more concrete concept when integrated with Juingong leadership.
Lastly, I conclude that if intuitive leadership is employed in the introductory stage of Juingong leadership, it will add the practical elements required to meet the needs of future society. Then Juingong leadership will have a greater appeal to modern society, and they can be more naturally led to adopt it.
